Coming to a mailbox near you….

Posted in business-a-go-go at 4:16 pm by carrie

The latest postcard… (I’ll add the art when I get home!) is reaching mailboxes everywhere today… and I’ve already gotten quite a few calls.

The big news is… I’m closing the store :(

It’s hard to explain, especially because there are so many emotions attached and pulling them out to make a final decision truly proved itself difficult. I’ve been thinking about this for over a year now. There are so many reasons, and I’ll try to explain them the best that I can.

geesh, it’s hard to get sentimental while surrounded by people asking questions about drawer pulls… I’ll finish this tonight
*update: 3:30 am… I think I broke my toe so no update… bah. Debating urgent care… I’ll blog tomorrow night, I promise :)*
*update: 5:35 am… yep… confirmation that it’s broken. 2-6 weeks to heal, keep elevated and go easy on it. Awesome! I just kept thinking of Elliot from Scrubs… saying “Frick!” and her bangs convulsing. The boys in urgent care were keeping it real and bumping… possibly Grandmaster Flash… my x-ray tech looked like Vin Diesel… awesome. So, heads up yo, I’m not going to be at the shop today because a south paw digit has snapped… yo.*** End update :)

Wow, it’s really hard to see you go. I know that whatever you go on to do will be something that you’ll love to do too. When I pull out my Halloween kids I will always think of your shop and how much fun I had shopping for them there.

    Take care,

laughing…and half way thru the post I grabbed a popsicle stick and some tape and was ready to dash over. SERIOUSLY THO, you realllly broke it. Not good. Can’t wait for THAT story. Tell me it was not an Anger Management Issue but rather a Bi Polar Mania ! ( because you know how you arrrrre…)

I got my card. I knew already but it was still sad to have it tangible. I peered at all of your little pictures and smiled at times I could relate to and times before me ( B.S. ? hahha Before S. — did you get IT ?) and it was just sad sad sad. BUT ! on the other hand, Bright Lights here ! I see you happier and on your way to more and bigger and brighter. I feel it. I know it.

Besides she said selfishly, now maybe you will have a little more time to BLOG. Entertain me at work !

All kinds of things are going to come from this change. It will be a tough transition I suspect with all the work of closing up and now with that broken toe bit….good grief.

The Four Seasons (pasadena) is having a Candlelight TEA for Valentines week. Wanna go with me ? BEE MINE ? Look at this Public Declaration !!! laughing.

okay okay I should go before I say anything else we don’t want anyone to know…hahhaha.

    Love, S

Oh so sad to find I will not get to visit the store, Sandy raves about all of the time … (and Sandy’s comments on this post nearly made me pee my pants–)

The toe thing … major owie, major bad timing. Is there good timing for breaking bones? Weeellll anyway, heal and feel better soon. I miss the shoppe already but if closing such a wonderful place is what you are to do in order to move forward into a better adventure, just think of what is ahead!

    =^..^= love, zU
