Do YOU know what the Webkinz World is??

Okay… so I keep hearing about Webkinz… Mostly from my Ganz rep and moms with young kids who are collecting them “all”. But… although there is a buzz on ebay and assorted news shows, I still don’t get it.

My question is this… what do YOU think of them? Have you heard of them? Are you looking for a specific animal? Please let me know! I guess there are very special little animals that come out at Halloween and Christmas (a black cat and moose?) and you are allowed to get more if you are already a Ganz customer (which I am) and order a certain amount of non-webkinz holiday decor (which I do and have been doing for 4 years or so). So, this could be a good fit… maybe. I’m just a tad unsure. Hey, if I get a ton of comments, perhaps I’ll start doing Webkinz giveaways ;)

Please leave comments… my Ganz Rep, Chris (Hi Chris!) is going to read this so I want him to see all the suggestions as well ;)

Thank you thank you!

Zachary got his last year and we check it’s online status every few weeks. It is one of his favorite stuffed animals. It is a black and white cat he got from his grandparents.

I will ring you today, yeah!

We are the owners of 2 webkinz pets. They are a really neat concept for kids who want to play computor games. Here’s basically how it works…you buy a pet, register the pet using the code that is on the pet’s tag, then you take care of your pet and you are a member of Webkinz World for one year. You can adopt other pets also during that year.

The internet site is a very safe place for them to play and it also has learning games (quizes with all sorts of questions). There are daily activities that the kids do like, feed their pets, play daily bingo, answer the question of the day, hunt for jewels. The kids play games and answer questions to earn “money” that they can then spend on their pet to buy it food, clothes, furniture.

There is also a parents area on the website where you can limit the time your kids get to play on the site.

It has been really good for my son and daughter because 1. we don;t have pets and this is a great way to teach them a lott;le bit of responsibility, and 2. It is helping them learn about spending money wisely.

It’s also a great gift idea at $10 each, you can’t beat it. We don’t collect them, you only really need to buy one every year to stay an active member. We are very happy with out tree frog, Jumper, and our gorilla, Swinger.

    Hope this helps!

Webkinz are a craze here…. the stores can’t keep them in stock. They seem to be similar to the way Beanie Babies used to be… there are certain ones that are hard to find and become really desirable.

My daughter is 4 and she has three of them… she loves to check on them online and play the games with her Dad’s help.

Never heard of them before, but I don’t have kids. Went to ebay and they are selling like crazy there, you know, the retired ones you can’t get anymore. Look cute . . . they seem similar to Beanie Babies except Webkinz also have the computer interaction.

I just did a post on these at http://www.contentmatters.info/content_matters/content_business/index.html
The Webkinz business is growing very quickly, particularly along the eastern seaboard. My 8-year-old has 5 of them and is online at least twice weekly. Virtually every kid in her class has at least one or two (girls tend to have more than boys, but the boys have them too).
It’s basically beanie babies with a virtual community (a la Second Life) twist.

I had a recent discussion with a local shopkeeper who is on the waiting list; we estimated he would get at least 25 more visitors daily via walk-in traffic if he stocked them.

That’s so funny! My rep keeps trying to talk us into these too! She promises me they are the best thing since sliced bread. Jamie and I kind of just laughed it off but they seem to be everywhere now…not sure if we are jumping on the bandwagon or not, this one is a hard decision!!!Good Luck and let me know how it goes!

I have 12 of them. I’m a kid if you were wondering. I love them! their fun to play with online and off. It also teaches kids about how to take care of things and what will happen if you don’t.

You can also play tons of games to earn ‘money’, which in Webkinz World is called KinzCash, and you can buy things with the KanzCash. I love Webkinz!!!
